The iWay 500c comes with the RAM "EZY Mount" quick-disconnect system attached to the rear of the unit. To attach it to the dash mount, I replaced the plastic EZY Mount with a metal diamond-base ball (not included in the kit - available here), installed a RAM Round mounting base to the dash mount itself, and then use the included short arm to couple it to the GPS.

The 600c doesn't ship with any RAM mounting hardware at all, instead it uses an 'automotive-grade' quick-disconnect suction cup mounting system. To use the 600c on the bike, you'll need to replace the included mounting system with the appropriate RAM hardware, available below.

An added benefit to this design is it gives it a little more clearance, allowing it to clear aftermarket shields, like the Tulsa. You can also use one of the longer arms to offset the unit to either side, if desired, to allow for clearance for the windshield vent airflow.

Note: The dash profile on the '06 version of the GL1800 is much different that the earlier model years. The existing dash mount will not fit this year without modifications to the shape of the dash mount and its' support legs on the bottom.  A new design is being developed now to support this model, but it will be a while before it's available for general purchase.

Lowrance has decided to supply the quick-disconnect system with this unit to make it easier to move from vehicle to vehicle.

Unfortunately, this system imparts a little bit too much movement for long-term satisfactory performance on a motorcycle.

Replacing the mount on the back of the GPS with a metal base will allow for a more secure and more stable mounting system on the motorcycle.

Gilsson amplified remote antenna for the iWay 500C.  This assembly is equipped with a 9' cable with the straight connector required for an interference-free connection to the connector on the back of the GPS (the body of the right-angle version hits the back of the GPS, preventing full insertion.

An amplified antenna decreases the signal acquisition time of the unit and keeps a signal longer when riding through obstructed areas.

RAM mounting kit for installing the GPS on the handlebars using a single-ball mount. 

This kit provides a single-ball handlebar mount, medium-length arm and a diamond base to attach to the back of the GPS.

This mounts into a hex-shaped opening on the front of the mount. The hex shape keeps the ball from rotating in use.

Power harness assembly. 

This kit consists of a power cable with pre-installed weatherproof inline fuse assembly (with LED indication of a blown fuse), terminals for connection to the battery terminals (allows for unswitched GPS use) and crimp connectors for owner-termination to the iWay bare cable ends.
