UPDATE: 7-7-03
I've modified the controller again and there are now FOUR MODES of
operation:
1. Solid-on
- this mode is enabled by default without modifying the mode switch.
The LEDs are driven to full brightness without any motion at all.
2. Classic
"Knight Rider" effect - this mode is enabled by grounding the
white wire of the mode select cable. The LEDs scroll from end-to-end as
shown in the animated pictures above.
3. "Out-to-in
and back" - this mode is enabled by grounding the green wire of
the mode select cable. The LEDs scroll starting at each end where they
meet in the middle and then start back out again.
4. "In-to-out"
- this mode is enabled by grounding the red wire of the mode select
cable. This is similar to the out-to-in mode above, but they
start in the middle, run to the ends and then start in the middle
again. This is slightly faster than the other modes as well.
I've also added hardware that will ensure the LEDs are driven at
their maximum brightness, and allow for adding future LEDs (for
ground-effect lighting, etc.)
